Exclusive… State House Chaplain, Rev Femi Taiwo Sacked By Ambode Still Floating One Year After

The erstwhile chaplain of the chapel of Christ The light, a church owned by the Lagos State Government , Rev Femi Taiwo who was sacked by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on May 15 , 2017 because he allegedly failed to anoint Ambode’s wife before other parishioners is yet to get new parish one year after he was sacked and evicted from the state-owned vicarage(residence).

COMPLETE NEWS competently gathered that Rev Taiwo who is under the Anglican Communion now operates as an itinerant cleric preaching as guest minister in other churches without having a chapel he presides.

This medium gathered that due to the level of the sacked cleric in the Anglican communion, a suitable post he could occupy has been a herculean task for the Diocese. Rev Taiwo whom a source confirmed he is weathering the storm shuttles cities in southwest, like Abeokua, Offa and others for preaching engagements.

Recall that the nation was enraged over the sack of the cleric and the 24-hour eviction notice served on him by the government of Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos.

The evicted reverend got another accommodation and support from concerned parishioners  when he was thrown out of his official apartment.

The church is under the Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs, while the Office of the Lagos State First Lady supervises church.

Church members were said to have filed out to receive anointing oil during the May 14, 2017 service without any preference given to Bolanle, who waited with her entourage.

Mrs Ambode was said to have later moved to be anointed and moments later, stormed out of the church, as some of the women leaders ran after her.

Bolanle, who was reported to be visibly angry, allegedly shunned entreaties from the women, which included the wife of the presiding chaplain. The cleric got the sack the following day.

The directive was issued in a letter dated, May 15, 2017, and signed by the Chairman, Governing Council of CCTL, Mr. Olugbenga Solomon.

The Governing Council asked the Assistant Chaplain, Very Rev. Ayo Oyadotun, to take over with immediate effect.
