The invasion and occupation of the residence of Hon Funmi Tejuosho, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Mushin 1 Constituency by mobile policemen on the order of the  governor Akinwunmi Ambode continues.

It will be recalled that Lagos State Government invaded No 3a, Sasogbon Str, Ikeja GRA, the house of Hon Tejuosho last Friday locking out her 11 year-old son, Adedotun who returned from the school and prevented the lawmaker’s daughter who was inside the house from leaving the building.

It was gathered that the governor vowed not to withdraw policemen from the residence despite pleas from certain powerful quarters.

COMPLETE NEWS correspondent who visited the Tejuosho’s residence yesterday’s evening at exactly 5:15pm saw a white pick-up van of the Lagos State Police Command packed at the front of the house. The black gate of the duplex was locked with chains while the policemen keep an eagle on the prime property.

Meanwhile, a signpost was erected on Monday outside the gate with an inscription, “This is an official  residence of Lagos State Deputy Speaker”. As at Sunday when our correspondent went to the building, there was no signpost.

Our correspondent in the company of another journalist approached the policemen to ask about the alleged harassment of the children and other family members of the lawmaker who reside in the house. The policemen names are Adeola Adeyemi, Franscis Alaba and Akpan.

Our correspondent approached Alaba who was armed with a AK 47 assault rifle to ask questions but he declined and referred COMPLETE NEWS to the head of the team, Adeola Adeyemi who pointedly said they were drafted from the Lagos State Police command on the order from ‘above’.

Asked why the children of the lawmaker were tear-gassed and her property being demolished in her absence. The angry policemen yelled, “ As far as we are concerned, there is nobody in this building”. But our correspondent heard dogs barking continuously in the compound, an indication that people were in the locked compound.

On the allegation that they tear-gassed Tejuosho’s children, Police officer Akpan, who sat on a white plastic chair facing his colleague Adeyemi dispelled the allegation saying, “ Can you perceive any tear gas here, for your information, a tear-gas can last 48 hours, if we tear-gassed people you should still perceive it ”.

But neighbors who spoke with COMPLETE NEWS  debunked policemen’s claim that didn’t tear-gased the residents of the invaded building.

“ You know policemen are chronic liars. We were here when they scared residents when they swooped on the building and started harassing people. They tear-gassed everybody in the building. I am even concerned for madam’s ( Tejuosho’s) daughter she used to buy Etisalat card from me. She has been locked inside since Friday”. Please, help us beg them to open the place”, a distraught middle-aged woman told our correspondent.

When COMPLETE NEWS requested to enter the house to confirm the veracity of alleged demolition of the property, the policemen rebuffed the request while stressing that they cannot speak on the matter.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that Hon. Tejuosho who was in faraway Brussels for an official assignment of the Lagos State Government was making plans to cut short her trip and return home.
