Apo killings: NHRC indicts DSS, Army

Boko Haram casualities

The National Human Rights Commission has indicted the Department of State Service and the Nigerian Army over the killings of some Nigerians who were suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in Abuja.

The combined team of SSS and the Army had sometime around late last year raided an uncompleted building in Apo Area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja killing over ten people in the process.

Public outrage trailed the killings which many Nigerians described as extra -Judicial killing. The security forces vehemently insisted tgat victims were members of the proscribed Islamic sect.

Some residents of Abuja argued that those killed were those doing menial jobs who cant afford the high cost of shelter in the nation’s capital therefore taking abode in the uncompleted building.
